The magnetic dance
The magnetic dance (2018) is a short art-movie about adherence and repulsion. We as humans can be so intense and connected to someone. And at another moment suddenly feel rejected by that same person. These (counter) poles are the result of attachment. By combining violin with a chemical fluid, I was able to create a surrealistic world, without deforming it. The fluid that I have used, named Ferrofluid, has a unique property. It comes back as one form, at all times. And the movements of the liquid are directed by magnets. The closer the magnets come together, the more attraction the liquid will have. I find the resulting fluctuations from the magnets correlate with the universal picture I have of human relations.
