After an intensive and inspiring climb of 6660 steps we arrived at the highest point of the Taishan mountain, or the “Jade Emperor Summit”. The peak was over 1500 meters high and characterized by the wide view of the foggy landscapes. The Taishan mountain is part of the five Sacred Mountains in China and is located in Shandong Province, which is also the birthplace of the great philosopher Confucius.

Around 4:00 am we were awakened by the hotel staff, on top of the mountain, to find a place along the misty paths to watch the sunrise. Due to the heavy fog, we have unfortunately not been able to experience an amazingly beautiful sunrise.
